Mike Homik


Michael "Mike" Homik (born 6 July 1978) is a New Zealand professional basketball player who last played for the Manawatu Jets of the New Zealand National Basketball League (NZNBL). He was part of the silver medal winning Tall Blacks team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games. He has won four NZNBL championships: two with the Auckland Stars (2004, 2005) and two with the Waikato Pistons (2008, 2009).
==Early life and career==
Homik was born and raised in Hamilton, New Zealand where he attended St John's College〔(Jets lose retired Homik as stunt job beckons )〕 and played 14 games for the Waikato Warriors between 1996 and 1997.
In 1997, Homik moved to the United States to attend West Valley JC. In 1999, he transferred to Albertson College of Idaho where he graduated from in 2002.
